After almost three years at the helm of the grand Swartberg Hotel, Neill and Donald have made a difficult decision to emigrate to New Zealand.
Neill, who hails from Dunedin, South Island, has lived in South Africa for 20 years having qualified as a horticulturist and working at Kirstenbosch Gardens on arriving in South Africa. Through circumstances, he found his way into the hospitality game and has been Food and Beverage Manager for various hotels.
Donald’s career spans many years in the hotel business. Gregarious by nature, he has always enjoyed the company of people and interacting with them. “Leaving this beautiful hotel, the staff and Prince Albert has not been taken lightly”, he said. “However we’re both finding that we miss our families and by emigrating, we’re closer to many of them.”
They both take the opportunity to thank all those who supported them during their time at the ‘grand old lady’, wish the wonderful team they have worked with growth and strength and to the villagers a huge thank-you for their support.
